Classic Traveller GM Screen

Rauthik

SOC-5
I'm making a GM screen and was looking for suggestions as to what I should add. It's more of a kind of quick reference/cheat sheet than a complete gathering of all pertinent charts.
So far I have the weapons vs armor and weapon ranges (with advantageous and disadvantage stats and modifiers). What else should I put in it? I'm thinking grenades (hand thrown, have the launchers on the big charts already) and vehicle stats and a list of all skills. Maybe the world building charts?

Have you seen the old Judges Guild screen for Classic Traveller? It was 4 sheets, double-sided, and would give you some good ideas.

I made a spreadsheet chart similar to the old Judges Guild screen (mine has fallen apart and is covered in water stains now) to paste over cardboard. Like the old screen I took all the DM's and put down for each weapon the resulting to hit number against each armor type at each range. I included any weapons I made for my game that way, and did the same for melee weapons.

Those two charts face the players since that's all they really need.

On my side I have the ship combat charts, with my expanded damage tables, and the program lists w/ = and - DMs. Random ship encounter table. List of rolls needed for routing ship tasks (Pilot for landing/take off..Navigation for jump success....) and what happens if those are failed. Turn sequence charts for personal and ship combat. Rolls for medical success versus damage types per JTAS #12.

All of these are on my side so I can fudge numbers up and down as needed and they are not things the players really need to worry about - they just keep me from having to flip through books all the time.

...and if you want to save some work I'll email you my spreadsheets if you wanna use them. I have them for Classic Traveller combat & Striker values in both melee and firearms.

Many moons ago, before I had a computer, when everything was duplicated and typed...
I made a GM screen from 3 sheets of A4 card taped together. I have its grubby yellow carcass before me now, and it contains:

Personal Body Armour Table (Striker)
Melee Weapon Table (Striker)
Direct Fire Hits Table (Striker)
Grenade Launchers Table (Striker)
Nuclear Missile Blast Effects Table (Striker)
Time Required to Receive Orders (Striker)
Demolition Penetration Table (Striker)
Rifle/Hand Grenade Tables (Striker)

Individual Energy Weapons Table (Striker)
Individual Slug Throwers Table (Striker)
Crew Served Slug Throwers Table (Striker)
Base (vehicle) Mounted Energy Weapons Table (Striker)
Standard Energy Weapons Table (Striker)
Energy Weapon Range Multipliers Table (Striker)
Morale Values Table (Striker)
Cover Armour Value Table (Striker)
Armour Thickness Multiplier Table (Striker)
Personnel Wound Table (Striker)

Armour Combination Table (Striker)
Morale Table (Striker)
Air Spotting Table (Striker)
Ground Spotting Table (Striker)
Vehicle Penetration Table (Striker)
Melee Table (Striker)
Vehicle Damage Table (Striker)
Weapon Damage Table (Striker)
Surface Damage Table (Striker)

As you can see, at that time I'd supplanted LBB1 combat with modified Striker Combat, but it'll give you an idea of what I wanted to look up. I didn't do much ship combat. YMMV.

and this is why I absolutley love this site/forum. You guys are great. Sabredog, I'd would definitely like to see those spreadsheets!! (rauthik@aol.com)
The booklet thing that I'm using is designed for collectible card games and has four pages of plastic inside that hold four cards each. I figure my note and small charts go there and the outside has clear plastic over the hard covers where I put the weapons vs armor and the weapon range modifiers, advantageous and disadvantage DMs and damage dice. I truncated the weapon list to not include everything (I'm not loading them up with super high tech stuf yet or anytime soon) so I left off a couple of weapons.

Oh.. I picked up a JG screen at Gencon this year. At first look I wasn't too impressed with it's useability and kind of put it aside and forgot about it (hey, I bought a ton of stuff at Gencon and that $2 purchase got lost in the shuffle). I'll dig it up from the pile of 'read later' and check it again though.
