Copyright status

What is the copyright status of works posted in the Imperial Museum of Art (the image gallery?) Are they available for use in nonprofit works with attribution (like a Creative Commons license?) How about for-profit works (i.e., did the poster relinquish some or all publication rights by posting here?)

Per the board FAQ and my limited understanding all works posted here retain copyright unless specifically noted otherwise. Some images may be public domain but that is not always clear. Some stuff may be intended for a Creative Commons use (for eg. see my sig, which I suppose in the proper vernacular would be CC BY-NC-SA) but again that is not always clear. I think the best course of action is treat everything as copyright protected and contact the original poster for clarification before using it in any other manner.

Always contact the original artist, unless it's purely for your own personal use (and even then they might let you have a better version!)
