CT books 0-8: reprint is sold out?!

I seem to be having an awful lot of trouble getting hold of the CT Book 0-8 Reprints.. doordice.com just informed me that they're out of stock now (*shakes fist at Baron Saarthuran*). My FLGS can't get hold of them, none of the usual online RPG shops I go to has them in stock either...

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this?!!? Do FFE still have copies? If so, are they prompt when it comes to sending the books out?

I've bought directly from FFE several times. Got fast service and good quality shipping. Plus those $$ are going right into Marc's pockets: another good reason to go that route.

OK, that's reassuring... but do FFE still have copies to sell now?

Yes, I'm facing the same problem, Books 0-8 is unavailable.

The reality is they're probably having trouble getting a)a printing slot or something similar, one of many perennial problems for game companies.

Right now, if they became available, I'd by Books 0-8, Second Survey, and JTAS 25-36, all in one shot.

They better. I just paid for a set of reprints to use and fill in gaps [books 7 and 8]. I guess I could soldier on with 1-6 but I also ordered the Supplements too.
I just went over to the travellerrpg.com store, and Books 0-8 was not available for sale.

if that's the case, does anyone (Hunter?) know if they're going to print more?!

I'll check again tomorrow.

</font>
Yup we've got 11 copies in recently. I just updated or inventory on the system.

Hunter, is the shopping cart system fubared?

If I click on the 'Book 0-8' link in the store, and go through the blurb about supporting the local FLGS (do we really need that there? I'd imagine people are aware of what they're doing when they're ordering from you online), I don't actually see any products showing in the cart at all.

There's also no 'checkout' button either, which makes it rather difficult to proceed. This is using IE 5.0 on WIndows 2000.

Heh, you wouldn't believe the flack I catch from retailers because we have our own online store! That blurb you saw only appears the first time you go to look at your cart during an ordering session.

I just checked it myself and ran into the same problem you described. Give me a few minutes and it should be fixed.

Thanks! That worked. Congratulations, you're now about 33 dollars richer :D

One suggestion though - the pages where one fills out one's details are a mix of secure and non-secure documents (the latter being the titlebar image, I think). This means that every page you move to in the process, a window pops up saying that the page contains mixed documents and asks whether one wants to see both types or just the secure ones. This can be a bit confusing for people - if one selects 'show non-secure data' then the page doesn't have the secure 'padlock' in the status bar in the bottom of the browser, even though the forms are actually secure. If you could copy the titlebar to the secure server, this might remove the problem, perhaps?

Otherwise, I think it worked OK.

</font>
Yup I know exactly what you are talking about. Though I had moved all of the links to point to the secure locations, but must have missed some of them. The joys of site redesign! ;)

BTW, Thanks for the order!

Twice. Both were dealt with using Paypal, so I suppose that part was dealt with expediently.
Emails checking status both times brought prompt responses. The first instance had the merchandise delivered with a little "extra"! The second instance the book arrived with Marcs kind remark and autograph. No need to worry.

Well, I'm still waiting for mine that I ordered from the QLI store, but I'm not panicking yet since I only ordered it a few days ago. If it's not here by next week then I'll start worrying and pestering Hunter for it.

But from the mixed reports I've heard about FFE, I suspect I'm better off having ordered from QLI. I hope I am anyway

I can check but I am pretty sure it went out last week. You can also always email Rose (rose@quiklinks.com) and see when it was shipped.

Marc is in the same boat we are; we do the packing, shipping, etc. ourselves. There ain't a big crew around here or at FFE ;) So sometimes we get behind.

Thanks Hunter. In the unlikely event of nothing showing up, I'll hassle Rose instead of you ;) .
