It was a long book only several page spread where susie was a booger being and his mom was a naggon. If you have the C&H complete collection I think its in Volume 2 if you don't have it ,its a ball with a skull and crossbones (in real life it was a water ballon he hit his mom with). Also my storline explains why , despite his tech , he is faced by overwhelming odds, you never see any humans , and he crashlands often because of years of improvised repairs with low tech tools that are inadiquate for something as advanced as his ship.

Hmph. I thought I had all the Spiff-centric strips. :( Bummer.
Were the "booger being" and "naggon" shown as aliens?
Many of the aliens (that I've seen in the strip) have common salient characteristics. I may come up with a random generation table for alien creation.

LISTING OF SPIFFVERSE WORLDS/STAR SYSTEMS:

AHNOOIE-4
BOG
GLOOB
GORK
GORZARG-5
MOK
MORDO
MYSTERIO SYSTEM, 5th planet
MYSTERIO SYSTEM, 6th planet
PLOOTARG
Q-13
QUORG
X-13
X-351
Z-12
ZARK
ZARTRON-9
Z-K5
ZOG
ZOG(2), likely different than above.
ZOK
ZOKK
ZORG

MENSURATION:

• Megazorks. [Implies also zorks, kilozorks and gigazorks?] Perhaps based on the AU or fractions of a light year?

Your not missing much its just a standard ugly alien and giant alien along with blaster and demise-o-bomb nothing you HAVE to see to understand. Also do you know of any grenade rules? I have all the CT rules from far future enterprises. A grenade would be equivilent for a demise-o-bomb.

Here are my Spiff stats these are to be tweaked changed and generally screwed up judging by any spiff strips you remember.
(PS this uses my super scout-generator)

7eb99c
Survival-1
Pilot-3
Air/raft-2
(im going to call it the zorcher)-3
Improvised Mechanical-2(this would be without tools or supplies of proper tech level)
Gunnery-3
Computer-1
Navigation-1
Engineering-1

Also maybe you should take out mysterio 5 since it was destroyed.

Right! In my notes I state that between the star and Mysterio-6 is a large asteroid belt, and in one hemisphere of Mysterio-6 is a massive impact crater from some recent catastrophy. ;)

I can just make a map on word and email to you if you like.

I've already made one in Word, but figuring out that blasted complicated coding on travellermap.com is driving me insane.

Oh you are seriously trying to figure out that stuff? I just use this simpler(but no less sci fi sounding) thing.

subsector number-tens place-ones place

Hey there!

I haven't seen any requests for help via email. What seems to be the problem?

Please describe what you're trying to do, what you're getting as a result, and how that differs from what you expect.

The map site (and I'm assuming you're trying to use the http://localhost/Maps/post.htm page to make a map from your data) takes a plain boring old SEC file (or copy/paste the data). It's not any different than any other Traveller data file you might run across - a bunch of lines of the form:

Code:
Name-------------- Hex- UWP------ B TC/Rem--------- Z PBG Al
Raweh              0139 B130300-B N Lo Ni Po De     A 920 Im

Name = name
Hex = hex coordinate in sector (XXYY)
UWP = Universal World Profile
B = bases
TC/Rem = Trade Code/Remarks
Z = Zone (A=Amber, R=Red)
PBG = Population Mantissa, # Belts, # Gas Giants
Al = Allegiance

The site is not persnickety about field widths - it just needs 4-digit hex and 7-1 UWP, at least 10 characters for the trade-codes/remarks, 3-digit PBG.

Let me know if you have any problems.

I'm currently trying to stat up the alien ships. Most of them look like modified scouts (pretty simple). But most of them use something that looks like a laser but acts like a missile (ray that explodes). I'm thinking it's something like a missile but leaves an energy trail (more like a photon torpedo rather than Andrew Boulton's missiles) but this still doesn't sound quite right. Any suggestions?

All I really need is a simple map with system names only. However, I don't need all that profuse "metadata" stuff. When I cleared it out, I received a slap on the wrist. :o When I looked up "SEC file" (I've never heard the term) it said that its a secure encryption file. Why does the map need securely encrypted information???

Actually, SEC files are Missouri Archive SECtor files - a text-based format similar but not identical to the file format for Jim Vassilakos's GALACTIC program. SEC (and Galactic) format is essentially a one-line-per world fixed-field format, the classic UWP listing format that you see in Classic Traveller.

You can probably just use "filler" data for the fields you don't care about: for example, copy Joshua's example for each world, and just change the data you're interested in.

Code:
Name-------------- Hex- UWP------ B TC/Rem--------- Z PBG Al
World One 0101 B130300-B Lo Ni Po De 920 Im
World Two 0203 B130300-B Lo Ni Po De 920 Im
World Three 0206 B130300-B Lo Ni Po De 920 Im
World Four 0304 B130300-B Lo Ni Po De 920 Im
World Five 0406 B130300-B Lo Ni Po De 920 Im

Hm. I'll try it with just the world names. I shouldn't have to insert "dummy data" to fill up anything.

I'm beginning to suspect that Traveller players are mostly PhD-level, child-prodigy, advanced computer programmers who innately relish convoluted systems of rules for the express purpose of befuddling the simian intellects of the rest of the species. (Or perhaps that's just MT!) :rofl:
