CT: Striker Book 3 Vehicle Design Questions

Hello all,

I've been looking at the Striker Design Sequences (DS) in Book 3 and have come up with a couple of questions I need help answering.

1. Is there a site with errata for CT in general and Striker in particular?

DS-1: Vehicles

The basic structure of a vehicle is the chassis, which has a base cost without any other components added, as should a basic turret. However, the sequence figures total vehicle based only on the components added to the chassis and turret.

2. How do you figure the base cost of the chassis and turret?

I donot believe they gave than base cost for chassis and turret as it isnot needed. I have the boxed set with the errata. It like asking what a basic chassis of than car cost.

Morning Sophiathegreen,

Thank-you for your reply and coments.

To a point you are correct that this is a minor detail, however if you work backwards and remove the extras and such, one can figure the cost of a, please have all children leave the room;), bare chassis. In Striker, with the exception of an airframe I think, a person can't get this detailed if he or she wanted too.

Again thank-you for the comments.

There are some striker corrections / errata in JTAS 12 (in the reprints books).

As for the cost of the chassis. I think it is included within the armour costs. Which is okay for tanks with lots of armour.

For civilian vehicles, they generally only have 0.25cm hull shell (usually either soft steel, composite laminates or crystaliron depending upon your tech). This should give you a cost for a basic chassis and body panels. If the vehicle is open topped, just assume there is no armour / body panels there.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Richard

Evening RichardP,

Thank-you for your reply and the comments, which do help. Over the last couple of days I have been slowly moving towards your solution. However, I still had not developed the idea to the level you pointed out.

Again thank-you and the others you have responded to my post.

If you have access to the JTAS reprints, or a collection of JTAS mags, check the article in JTAS 14, Civilian Vehicles in Striker, by J.Andrew Keith.

This may have more insight into the questions you are asking.

Evening tjoneslo,

Thank-you for the suggestions, and yes I have access to the FFE reprints from book 001 to 002.

SLightly off topic, but have you had a chance to review the Delphi material I sent you? Yeah, I know I said I be patient, but I just can't resist any longer.
Again, thanks for the assistance.
