deckplan creation help

I recently acquired Neopaint and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get stamps for deckplan creation. for those who don't know. Clipart type images would work.

...If you need a start, Go to File Library and look up The Coti Build. There are several of my stamps there and they are label...

Thanks for the complement Lensmen.

Gammamutant, here are a few tips and history on my stamps.

I started designing starships back in the 90’s using Neopaint DOS Version. I chose PCX for all my design files and still use them today. My computers haven’t had the power to create large {8x11 inch) size drawing until the last few years. Most of my drawings were small, so I decided on 15 by 15 pixel squares for my deckplans. All the rooms and equipment are based on this model.

You will note that the single bunks Staterooms in the Coti Build are quite large (Exaggerated) and take up most of the floor. It done on purpose so people identify those rooms and that feature as a bed. Most of my drawings have a scale bar up to 6 Meters, which is based on the 15 by 15 pixel squares. The DOS version allowed you to set grids using pixel, the Windows version uses columns and rows, which throws off the perspective of the grid. Lucky for me, I was able to make stamps of a 15 pixel square for spacing and construction purposes.

It’s taken me 10 years to setup the stamps I have and standardize them, all done through trial and error. But once I set the standard for room size and equipment, I can whip out a design in about a week now. I have megabits of files of ships which I have started and never completed. Those too help me when I need a feature or a start for new design. I also search the web and the art gallery for inspiration. I’m also building new stamps when I feel they match my designs. Even now, I’m considering a revamp of the Blade and Broadsword in the art gallery because of some mental errors I’ve made in their construction.

Yet no one has ever asked me for a ship card on any of those designs I’ve posted, which I have the capability of creating in about the same time as the deck plans I post. The Coti Build is the only ship I’ve posted that has a ship card.

The point is however you go about building your deckplans, they will be used as the person using them see fit. Far Trader made that perfectly clear when he designed the medical suite (Posted in the Art Gallery) using my drawings as a basis for his design. I took that as a complement as well. It’s one reason I rushed to create a drawing for him…

I know I'm rambling here. Just be yourself and be creative and things will work out just fine...

If you google the Dungeonforge website, there are a large number of 20x20 pixel stamps/tiles there. Dungeonforge also provides a basic but effective engine for assembling them. I don't know how it compares with Neopaint, cos I have no idea what Neopaint is. :)

Well if you have and extensive collection you could e-mail them to me. ;) jk I am having trouble finding the stamps. I found a few ships and might cut pieces out.

Just post something that will give you a start. A freind sent them to me by e-mail a long time ago form somewhere on the web or I'd give credit to the person and or website.

This will give you a start....

Okay, it been a few days since I post "Stamps" in the art gallery. I've hear the whirling sounds of harddrives filling the air and the blink lights of active computers have kept me awake at night as this forum download "Stamps" to their computers.

Now for the really big question?

When am I going to see some new deckplans hit the Art Gallery?

When you post them as vector graphic files? ;-)

Best regards,

As soon as my 4 kids give me a chance to goof off. (maybe when the school year starts. :))
