What are the differences between Starter Traveller, The Traveller Book and the LBBs? Does anyone have a concise list of those? The only difference I know about is that Starter has range-band rather than vector space combat and no ship construction rules.
What's that on page 5 of the charts and tables book?Traveller Book is the only place with the Cover and Concealment rules.
Starter does have ship construction rules. Pages 10 and 11 in the forms and charts booklet, pages 31 to 35 in the rulebook.
It is also the only place you find the pulse laser rules.
What it lacks are the rules for drugs and the experience section.
The Traveller book has a lot more stuff about running a game and campaign.

Cover and concealment rules
They are also mentioned in the rulebook on page 26 right at the bottom.
I own TTB (bought when there was only Traveller, not its many versions), but I've never seen Starting Traveller.
As you describe it, Starter Traveller seems more thought for the players, while TTB for the referees...

Depends if you want a hardcover edition of the rules. It's only $20 + shipping in the US. And tax probably, if I remember.I have the LBBs 1-3 (in one book) reprint at hand. So should I buy the PoD version of TTB and/or print out the Starter Traveller PDFs I have?

I remember that because S4 quoted from LBB's, and I quoted from TTB, and they didn't match.
I know. I have it.Well you can download the Starter Edition for free from DriveThru.
