ISU is well - actually live in Des Moines, but work in Ames. Most of my players have been or are students (including self).
As to 4 day games - get to do that on the Xmas holiday - learning that it was fun 15 years ago, and much harder on the body now 15 years later.
Back to the thread - my concern about the products QLI has planned over the next few years is that they will just be an amplification of what we all know to be 'prior history'.
Where's the fun in that? Obviously the frontier aspect of the Gateway domain will present some rough and tumble storylines, but if it is just a back drop of the Solomani-war, and nothing really changes from established canon, well, er, I guess that'd be OK for a sourcebook, or a group of small adventures. But I doubt it could be an engaging product line with multiple products.
I'd like to see QLI take the opportunity to foreshadow some of the future events we DON'T already know, such as events after Hard Times but before TNE. Or some cryptic threads that aren't revealed until M:1248.
I know this is harder to do, especially with so many hard-core fans who will pounce on the first break with canon. But a continuing storyline in the setting was one of the things I liked about Shadowrun. ((

Regardless of how you feel about the genre, you have to appreciate the FANTASTIC job FASA did of steadily moving the official timeline forward, keeping the setting fresh, and generating opportunities for FASA to sell more product.
Some insight from the Ancients would be helpful - where do you guys stand on this??
