Expanded Chargen: Wet Navy & COAC

Mithras

SOC-14 1K
In all the iterations of Traveller, has there been an expanded version of the COAC and the wet navy? I'm thinking of CT and something similar to Scouts, Mercenary, High Guard etc. Rather than GURPS.

I missed out on alot of MT, is anything there? Or in a Challenge magazine?

Yes, In MT

The COACC book has expanded flyer char generation

Wet Navy is a little more complicated. The expanded character generation was not included in the "Wet Navy" series in Challenge Magazine. It is in HIWG Document 2198 on the HIWG disc. (Written by Terry McInnes, the same guy that wrote COACC)

I sorted & reformatted it all to match the MT formatting & it came out to about 54_ pages.

In CT, there were some expansion articles in the Dungeoneer Magazine. I believe the articles are in the new Apochrypa (sp) II CD. (Am at work & can't check)

Mithras, the MGT version of Mercenary included a Wet Navy career. Like the careers in the book, it was pretty good (say what you will about the rest of the book; and I might agree).

Oh yes I forgot there was a COAC book. Thanks for that. What is HIWG?

I'm all for Mongoose Trav and have played, but still prefer my beloved CT. [EDIT: Do not have Mongoose's Mercenary however]

HIWG - History of the Imperium Working Group. The goal was to develop writers for Traveller. Lots of folks working the Rebellion Timeline & adding background. They also published Tiffany Star

"Newletter supporting the HISTORY OF THE IMPERIUM WORKING GROUP (HIWG) in developing the future setting of the Imperium,
Six issues come with annual membership to HIWG. Authors and artists include Marc Miller, Jeff Swycaffer, Ed Edwards, John Meyers, Gregg Giles, Craig Sheeley, Tom Peters, and Phil Morrissey. Mike Mikesh, editor."

It has a lot of information - Some of the material made it's way into the OTU (COACC, Wet Navy, the concept of booster plants for craft design). Some of it would have (Begining information for Black Duke), some of it should have made it, like Clayton Bush's Imperial Navy Handbook. The quality, to be charitable, was wildly uneven, but there are many, many diamonds in the rough, if you just dig enough.

There is lots & lots of information in it, but the disc has no discernable filing system, so everytime I dive into it, I add to an Index I am building for it.

There was a website where you could order it, but I don't believe anyone has responded to email over the past 5 or 6 years.
