In the 8th Century an Islamic Army invaded France and got beat at Tours. Charles Martel got enough "street cred" out of that that his son became King and almost unified Europe.
In the 12th century a local Syrian governor decided to ban a few (admittedly) dirty, smelly Christian pilgrims from Jerulsalem and the Crusades ripped the whole region for a century.
In the 16th Century the Ottomans moved up the Balkans, and actually got Venice, Genoa, Spain, and the Papal states to work together.
And in the 20th Century the Ottoman's allied with the Germans in WWI. They allied against the Russians, but the French and English were also involved. Within four years there were no more Ottomans.
They never learn. Leave the West alone.
