For those of you who received an incomplete draft of "Castles and Dragons", I'm wondering if you've had a chance to ponder it to render an opinion. Pros, cons, shortcomings, improvements and the like.

Thanks much for any reply.

I liked it.

The background is original and I might use it as the background for the "Reliquary" game this Sunday. I'll try running it at the game after that (three weeks from now).

Two questions you never answered: what a Landian actually looks like, and where the staff and students are. I keep thinking they are in the catacombs beneath castle Gamma, but I'm not sure.

Also, the planet needs a UPP (does it even have a population other than the University staff)?

It really needs NPC's. I don't want it to turn into a dungeon crawl, so when I run it I'm adding a character:

Dr. Zbigview 67ACD6 Scholar
Archeology-5, Survival-2, Laser rifle-2, ATV-1, Liason-1

The doctor is like the "Daniel" character from SG-1, and he is _convinced_ that some Landian hieroglyphs depict flying saucers and Droyne. He can be encountered at castle alpha, doing "research". He will ad humor and zest and conspiracy.

People like him are why the planet was red-zoned in the first place....

Add some artifact smugglers, some street-life, a bored but determined cop, I dunno, it just needs NPC's. I'm also adding religious fanatics because I'm going to run "Reliquary" based on this planet.

Did you get my email?

Best regards,

I'd like to know what Landians look like, also descriptions of the 'Dragons' and other fauna would be cool too.

The one thing that struck me with the castles were, why abandon one and build a new one. Wouldn't they just build up on top of the old one, allowing them to build and expand whilst still protected?

Hmm, I hadn't considered an NPC. I envisioned this as being a "micro" one evening session adventure for players, but, having said that, an NPC or two might be in order.

Yes, pictures of Lalandians, the Castles and Dragons woul be nice, some more detail to flesh out the adventure.

Hmm, okay. Considering suggestions here.

E.D.Quibell; yes, I got your email. Very helpful and insightful. More comments are welcome if you have any. Good or bad. I'd love to hear pros and cons.

No worries.

Why not work the suggestions you have recieved already into a second draft and when you've finished that I'll be happy to comment again.

Best regards,

Ewan
