Here's one:
Requirements: A ship, a clean record, military experience (Army, Navy, Marines, Flyers, Sailors) or Police Experience (LawEnf)
Location: Any world with a starport except a capital.
Situation: Mr. Jones, the Chief of security at the local downport, has a prisoner bound for an appeal. He does not have sufficient troops to spare for the escort. The prisoner is a pirate captain. Pay is KCr30 per jump to the Subsector (or Sector) capital, for prisoner transport and one DTon of evidence in a sealed container.
Referee's data: Roll or pick (1d6):
1) Broken man: Everything is as presented. The Captain is guilty, and is going to plead so, and will present no problems, and is willing to do his time.
2) Gentleman Pirate: He's going to make a break if he can, but won't hurt anyone to do so. If given "Gentleman's Parole", will live up to it... including on shore leave... until arrival the capital.
3) Charming Psycho: Appears and acts as Broken man or Gentleman Pirate until opportunity to take ship or escape presents, at which point this sociopath will gleefully kill, maim, or torture to take the ship and flee.
4) Innocent Dupe: they really got the wrong man. He'll protest his arrest and transport the whole way, and even beg the crew for help. The evidence is damning, but not conclusive, and is in fact going to convict the wrong man.
5) False Innocence: Exactly as number 4, except that the evidence is real, and will slam dunk this guy. He's not going to the prison planet. He'll escape if opportunity presents.
6) Right man, wrong ship: The evidence is right, and will slam dunk this guy. He'll present like any of the above. He was captured in a prize, however, and his other ship got away.... They will shadow the ship, and if they can pirate the ship, they'll grab him... what he orders done with the Players ship depends on which of the above types he really is.
Optional Complications:
1: The Prisoner is an alien.
2: The prisoner is a Nobleman.
3: The prisoner is a Zhodani agent
4: The prisoner is a non-zhodani Psionicist
5: The prisoner needs special diet due to medical conditions
6: The prisoner needs special accomodations due to race (EG, Virush, Newt, Dolphin, K'Kree.)
