1. Starport is in a coniferous-style dry forest. When the wind blows, the trees make a whooshing sound not unlike that made by a huge, local winged predator...
2. Starport has open arched buildings, very few walls.

3. Starport has a number of competing vendors selling pressure-sealed "Sector's Best Air" canisters, containing a sample of the world's air. More expensive canisters actually provide a few minutes of air (in case of dire emergency).
4. As above, except the samples are of random quality, enhanced with perfumes, hallucinogens, etc.
5. Starport is in the midst of a dense, humid jungle. Manual laborers regularly slash the overgrowth away to keep it from absorbing the compound.
6. Starport is designed as a villa, with tiled patios, quiet nooks for conducting 'business', pretty flowering trees, and very expensive hotels. A rich-tourist (and crime syndicate) haven.
7. Starport is situated on broken terrain, whose convection currents make it popular among 'grav surfers'.
8. Starport is made up of all sorts of different buiding sizes and styles, obviously added on over the decades (or centuries) as the budget permitted. Related sections might have covered walkways between them.
9. Starport has many booths selling "local flora" in small containers.
some of my ideas-based on Terrain dictating..
10.-Starport lies in desert terrain, with sunken pits/ tunnels, and facilities are mostly built cooler underground save for those that must remain above ground for Traffic control purposes.
[think SW-Tatooine/ Tunisia]
11.-As above, save the *desert* is a windswept barren plateu [rocky mesa's & arroyo's everywhere-think Grand canyon, AZ, NM]
12.- As in the above, save desert is an arctic but breathable world! [perpetual Winter]
13.- Ice world/breathable, but due to permafrost, structures are built above ground on pylons 1meter, to allow the heat escaping off them not to cause settling/ building sinking.
14.- Water world, the structures float, and are linked together (may be raised on high like oil derricks or man-made buildings floating atop surface.
15.-As above, but is submergeable in foul weather, like a vast submarine into the shallow sea. [submergable Starports like those alluded to in Path of tears on Berkin/Shenk/Old Expanses]
16.- As above, but structure starts on sea bed floor and protrudes above surface. [Think Sitah/later called Renj in TNE, Old Expanses P-subsector]
17.-Starport is along planet's equatorial lines, but in savanna setting not jungle terrain. Vast Grasslands surround it. Scattered buildings, and covered walkways from seasonal rains.
18.-As above, port is built over marshland/ estuary, with canals, and moving/ raising bridges for water craft traffic and access. [think Venice with moving bridges]
19.-port is built in the vale of a tarn [glacier formed lake] and doubles as a Ski resort in the winter locally. [Aspen, CO/ Switzerland?]
20.-port built on tropical island paradise in warm equatorial sea.[Fiji/Bali/Hawaii/ etc]
how's those for examples?
