Hex based world maps

Basic Cosmogapher, and an update that works with CC3+ is up next, can make solar systems and overland. FT3 outputs icoshedral planets. I have over 800 of them on my web site. There are two that I used the hexagon overland map template from CC3, placing each hex symbol for different terrain types.

There are several Annual issues that add to the CC3/Cosmo abilities; CA 22 Star Systems, CA67 High Space, CA80 High Space Systems, and CA99 Downports. Note that they sell the Annuals by year, not individual issues. The high space issues come with symbols that have floor/hazard signs. I've used the High Space Annual to make some generic solar systems posted on my site.

Note that I have one of their Patron licenses, they post when these are available in their forums. I didn't pay much as they subtracted what I had purchased in the past from the cost of the Patron license. So I don't have to pay for anything from them for the forseeable future. I don't gain anything from you buying anything from them, but I felt I should mention this.

I didn't know that the price was modified like that. Guess I should have read the fine print. May have to look into getting that when available...

What Aramis said. The company (Profantasy) also sells Fractal Terrains that creates a world map that is tunable with inputs and Cosmographer, which creates star maps that are printable. There is a fairly good system to give 3 dimensions to the maps, as well. I haven't' really used it much to make Traveller maps, but probably will once I get a group going. There are some spaceship design templates that look like they were taken out of the Traveller system, too. You may have to get some add-ons to do all that. I spent part of my yearly bonus on getting everything one year and so have lots of toys to play with.
Wrong Company, Psshynk.

Inkwell designs does Hexographer, et al.

Profantasy does Fractal Terrains and CC3. Which will NOT run on mac, unless one is competent with WINE. And it's fraught with problems. I've done it, the reulst is a lot of frustration and only limited success.

The current problem with CC3 and Mac is that CC3 only uses 2 megabytes of ram and doesn't use the video card. They have posted in their forums that this is a future fix. The underlaying CAD engine doesn't allow a Macintosh version.

Here is a blog entry at Profantasy that shows how to use Crossover.
