HG2 Combat To Hit DM Relative Computer size and Ships Tactics

Howdy all,

I'm checking to make sure I got this down:

Ship's Tactics when used applies a die modifier to the computer of (Ships Tactics skill level - 1)/2.

Ship A: Model/9fib and Ships Tactics 3
Relative computer size = 9
Ships tactics DM = (3-1)/2 = 1


Ship B: Model/6fib and Ships Tactics 5
Relative computer size = 6
Ships tactics DM = (5-1)/2 = 4/2 = 2

Ship A is the attacker:
Relative Computer Size DM = Ship A: 9 - Ship B: 6 = 3 which is applied to the attackers to hit die roll.

Using the Ships Tactics DM:
Relative Computer Size DM = Ship A: (9 + 1) - Ship B: (6 + 2) = Ship A: 10 - Ship B: 8 = 2 which is applied to the attackers to hit die roll.

Ship B is the attacker:
Relative Computer Size DM = Ship B: 6 - Ship A: 9 = -3 which is applied to the attackers to hit die roll.

As I understand it, when ship B attacks ship A ship's tactics should also apply, as they apply everywhere relative computer size is used (and this also includes the rolls to overcome the defenses).

You are correct and when I copied and pasted to change the attacker to Ship B only got the first example where Pilot Skill wasn't being used. Good catch.

Thanks for confirming that all + Relative Computer Size will apply the optional Pilot Skill DM if used.
