Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
I honestly haven't catalogized everything on this CD, but the main work of HIWG was directed towards the rebellion as HIWG came to life after MT was released. Allthough there is sector data for TNE available.
To change the subject slightly, my service provider has doubled my bandwidth and in nick of time =0)
As a christmass present I have uploaded the entire file to my site. The HIWG CD is now available as download for those who has experienced difficulties with the BitTorrent download. I'll keep the file available for direct download for at least 2 weeks, depending on how much it eats off my monthly quota of band width.
I am having issues opening almost all of the files in the "DECKPLAN" folder (those which are not *.gif or *.doc that is). Can anyone tell me what extension they should have? Even the *.doc files have a lot of exteraneous characters, were they perhaps Apple-formatted document files?
I am not sure what kind of files those are. Remember that many of these files was made in between 1988 and 1992. Thus which software that has been used has been lost in the mist of time.
I have started a thread in the Freeport Forums for this just in case someone know what kind of files this is. http://travellerfreeport.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1198925546/0#0
Well, I put it up on http://bigbadron.net today. I know nothing about them thar new-fangled torrents though, so I'm afraid it's just the Zip version for now, accessible from the front page.

Digging a bit on Google, the "DRWG" byte sequence at the start of the files indicates they may be MacDraw II files (data fork only, possibly). I've only spent a few minutes, but (1) the file format is apparently not well documented and (2) there are very few things that will consume it. However, I'm sure there is something that will convert them to a more widely consumable format... somewhere...
