Honor Harrington setting?

The Honor Harrington series is about THE required reading for Naval characters for nearly any sci-fi game. It deals with a minor noblewoman of the Kingdom of Manticore and her adventures as a serving officer of her Kingdom's Star Navy.

They begin with "On Basilisk Station".

Which is available for free as part of Baen books elibrary. There's a map online.

There was a cheap edition of that book printed a couple of years ago.

For a similar series based on the Aubrey-Maturin Series by Patrick O'Brian (as in the recent Master & Commander movie) I recommend also checking out David Drake's (of Hammer's Slammers fame) With the Lightnings .
