Hunter. . . What's the Latest on Release??

The final segment just went up for nitpicking. That means the final edit should be done for June 5th and the book will go to layout then.

Not sure how long it will take after that, but I'd guess mid-July. Hunter will probably be able to tell you more accurately.

Just bumping this thread up. I would like to know the latest estimate on the release date and when those of us who have pre-order can expect to see the book in our mailboxes.

*begins to pray that it happens within the next week or two*

I'm in desperate need to play a good Sci-tech based D20 game, I hope the gods of printing will hear my words... :D

I'm starting to go a bit crazy waiting :) My wife says I have problems with 'delayed gratification', but only when it comes to things like RPG's coming out and movies. This is nearly as tough as waiting for the LotR movies.

I've even started having dreams about this... man, that's pathetisad (Drew Carey Show reference). I am such a geekdork (another DCS reference).

THANK YOU... now I can show MY wife that I am not alone! I think I've chewed the ends off of a whole box of pencils already!

Hmmmm- I'm getting a little worried how release date queries are the ONE thing that nobody "official" replies to anymore. If there's been a slip, then at least tell us! I have six gamers checking the website every day in desperate hope the PDF will appear. Great for site hit statistics, not so good for our general mental well being. I had planned, working from the "start of July" PDF release statement, to end the first part of my campaign with a T20 bang. The final session is in six days. Guess that's not going to happen, then.

Well, here's an official reponse.

I dunno.

It's been in layout for a couple of weeks or more, but laying out a 446 page book takes a while, I'm told. I'm estimating mid August for the actual books, but I do words, not products, so I'm not really an authority.

This answer is mainly to show that we read the bvoards and - we care.

Based only on my previous experience in the printing industry assume the following rough figures after layout is complete
3-5 days to compose
1-2 days to get client approval
2-3 days to make plates
1-2 weeks to print
1-2 weeks to collate and bind
Then add on time for distribution.

We do appreciate your patience in this matter.
MJD and AMV are both correct, the book is a monster and it has been in lay out.
When we get the book and it's laid out, we like to get it printed at a convienant copy place so we can physically see it in our hands and we go through it and check for errors in the layout.
That is the process we are in now.
Also, I will hint that there are new and niftier things on the horizon. I know, it's cryptic, I can't say more right now, but other than the actual printing of the T20 rules AND these other looming crunchy good things, well it will be worth the wait.
I know, I know, you want to play and you want to see all the stuff in T20, but we want to try and make sure that the book is in good order before we release it.
You can appreciate that can't you?

I guess what I'd be really happy with would be a pdf version of T20, that I'd be willing to pay a goodly amount for, and then I'd be able to easily wait another month or so for the HB.

Really, I just want to be able to start generating characters for my group, and getting one or two games in before the books hit the mail.

But perhaps the 'lite' pdf is a good compromise between book and full pdf version.

Are pdf's a realistic thing right now? The sighs of relief would set off seismic sensors across the world if you could get us something like that...

I know I'm being terribly impatient, and it's really just that I'm excited- we would all rather get a decent product a couple of months late than a crappy product right now. You guys all rock.

Thanks for your quick reply Bruce. Is there any way the "schedule" that's available from the top page be updated to reflect the current status of the 4 T20 books listed there?

Thanks

Hey Bruce:

I just want to know if you have my pre-order payment. If you can confirm here or by email, then that's great. I can wait for the rulebook. My birthday is coming up next month. ;)
