If you find map errors....

Hi folks,

A request for anyone reading/using the Gateway book. If you spot any map errors can you post them in this topic so I can get them fixed for the final release. I don't think there are (m)any errors, but a few may have crept in...

My net access is erratic at best at the moment, so if I don't respond within a few days rest assured I will as soon as I can!

Thanks in advance!

Shane

P.S. Firsties!!! ;)

Not really an error, but on the map the worlds have a two character reference denoting their allegiance which isn't demonstrated on the key. Took me a few seconds to figure out what it meant.

The two character code above and to the right of the system name on the maps. It's just if someone who wasn't aware looked at the map they may wonder what they meant, and there is nothing on the key to tell them what they are. True it shouldn't take long to figure it out, but would probably be nice to tell them.

I dunno if this is intentional or not...during a random perusal I noticed that in the Gateway sector that there are 2 Oceanis systems at 2125 and 2214, both of which have identical UWPs

This is listed in both the Appendix II and in the Gateway Sector Overview Quadrant maps & UWP lists.

The worst thing is that Hunter pointed this error out to me and I thought I'd fixed it....

Thanks Graham, and keep 'em coming!

Disclaimer - My own personal opinion is that Abraham Lincoln is the greatest American there ever has been, not Homer Simpson - I just used that 'cause it was funny... So, like, please don't flame me and stuff! ;)

I noticed that on the map for Ley Sector, Delta Quadrant, 1733 (New Konigsberg) and 1728 (Taylors World) don't have their names printed, but their full details are provided with the UWP data.

I'm glad that we've finally driven the final nail into JG edition of the gateway...However, I must nitpick the 'six worlds are clients of the Hivers' ...

The six worlds in question, in subsector P, are all members of a Rule of Man client state. According to numerous HIWG sources, its name is the Corona Regnum. I quote:

Corona Regnum:
-2199 to 1130

A client state on the coreward-most edge (a "stretched" state reaching around to the spinward edge) of the Hive Federation. This Second Imperial client state would later form a critical diplomatic balance point which (along with the Hiver-K'kree War) would see the halt of coreward Hive expansion. It is this unique role which accounts for the similarly unique distribution of the Regnum's star systems. Also, these ties to the Rule of Man account for the relatively advanced tech level of this distant Imperial client state.

Later, Hive authors would attribute this move as the first external manipulation of Hiver society. It is for this reason that Hivers call the Corona Regnum the first of the Five Curiosities.

The material is from the HIWG quadrant 4...
Whose editor is, I believe Mr. Leroy W.L. Guatney...

I'm not nitpicking too much, as the area is still in development (slowly since the downfall of the HIWG), but since Leonidae Sector is one that I have a personal interest in, I think it's not too much to keep interstellar states coherent across sector lines...

Sorry MD, but I can't help you here. I just make the maps from the data I'm given (I had nowt to do with the design of the Gateway Domain stuff beyond making the maps). Any changes I make are to correct errors, or at the behest of the Anceints...
