I haven'tlayed in the Traveller universe for longer than most of you have been alive .,but I'm back now.
So has anything changed in the last 25 years or so?

Quite a bit. MegaTraveller shattered the imperium, New Era destroyed what was left, and switched to very different mechanics. T4 ignored it all, broke the system mechanics even further by taking the worst parts of the prior three.
T5 became vaporware.

Mongoose has a license for the next "real traveller" edition. It's also going to be used as a core ruleset for several IP's that they use, including Bab5, Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Starship Troopers, and will be open gaming licensed.

SJG has a licensed GURPS adaptation, there is a licensed Hero System adaptation, and you've found the home of the d20 adaptation.

welcome back. some things haven't changed. we all still like it, whichever version we use.

one big change (not just for traveller) is there's a huge amount of traveller and near-traveller fan material out on the web.

Just to make things clear, Mongoose have stated that they have no intention of converting Babylon 5 away from the d20 rules it currently uses. They have stated that they may release Traveller rules sourcebooks for Babylon 5 ships etc.

So, what of Babylon 5? There are no, repeat, no plans to convert Babylon 5 wholesale to Traveller. As with Conan remaining d20-based, Babylon 5 works perfectly well in its current incarnation, and there is no point in changing it just because we can.

That said, I would be very, very surprised if we did not do at least one Babylon 5 sourcebook for Traveller, converting the ships and characters for those who want to use the new system to tell stories on board the space station that changed the destiny of the entire galaxy.

I was not aware of this.
Are there plans for fixing it or making it work eventualy?

(Although I do still enjoy living life in the New Era and bringing back the "Good Old Days")

It is creeping towards release, though.
