Large Book 2 Ships

Jame

SOC-14 5K
A while ago I found a site with large Book 2 ships (for example, one was 14,000 tons). Now, I have to ask myself, how does one do that?

Or by extending the tables...

But since drives are limited in size by TL under Bk2, anything over 5K Tons should be TL17+...

Ignoring, of course, HG.

Ken Pick taught us how to stack the drives. Beautifully elegant.

I suppose you could also reverse engineer the formulae used to build the drive tables and build custom components. Mind the disconnects up at the higher ends -- seems like a TL split to me, but I've heard otherwise, maybe just a size efficiency kicking in.

He did? And where was that, pray tell? Is the information out there on the ethernet?

Thanks, Sigg! That has everything I want (aside from Employee's expansion set), except how to stretch the hulls!

Edit: Pardon if I sound harsh, but the hull-stretching is the only thing I'm interested in.

Hi Jame, if all you mean is how to figure out bigger custom hulls that's no problem. They will cost MCr0.1 per ton and require 36 months to build.

If you mean larger standard hulls, well, that's trickier. The standard hulls don't offer a price saving once you reach 800tons anyway and even the time saving is minimal, in fact it probably disappears entirely after 1000tons, so in effect there are no large standard hulls.
