Laser Crystal Imagery

I recently had a picture taken of myself and etched into a 3D image in crystal for $50 (US).

The picture took less than 10 seconds and the crystal was ready in 30 minutes.

Now that is fast. I knew that it could be done but I did not realize that the speed was greatly increased over the last 4 years.

The image is almost 180 degrees in size and can be made as small or as larger as the crystal. The biggest crystal takes 45 mins to make.

Just thought I would let you all know.

I did it as present for my grandmother. Looks really cool with different light shining through it.

Cool. I've got a nice Oriental Dragon done like that (if I understand the description) but I didn't know anyone was doing them to order. Was this a mail order, mall kiosk, or store? Any contact info you could pass along would be appreciated. There's a few things off the top of my head I can think I'd like to do though the price may be just a bit high. I got the Dragon (crystal about 3.25" by 2.5" by 1.25") with a led light base for about US$30 iirc.

EDIT: No worries on the contact info :) Google turned up a few hits, I just had to know it was being done so thanks for the heads up.

Just curious - 2D photo or 3D hologram?

Neither :)

3D photo.

No hologram and not flat.

Nor engraved on one side.

For more information please check the following website (one of many but this one also explains how its done.)

Laser Crystal Images

And this one you can send in photos versus having to have your picture taken by a special camera (the camera taken photos are much better and unless you can compare them side by side most will not notice.)

Photo turned to 3D crystal image
