Meet & greet on Lonestar, eh?

75 Patrons we've met so far...
just one more to go.
Will he offer a rich reward?
Will he be friend or foe?

Starport bars and alleyways
make for poor negotiations...
But for the kind of work we do
There's little need for deliberation.

If the ticket's target ain't worth its weight
in hostages, credits or loot
we crew of the 'Medusa'
will gladly take their ship to boot!

We've got some mercs aboard our vessel
Guns and cutlasses galore
Just when you think they've finished plunderin'
they'll pillage you some more.

We bring fearsome piracies to bear
with sandcasters, pulse and turret
But the most fearsome pirate in our crew
Is the captain's trusty ferret.

Aye, we're as dangerous as our namesake
Best to be left alone
for those who wander cross our path
will wish they'd turned to stone.

Ms. Mickazoid--well done!

Andrew--I think he'd like that one, yessir. :D

'What Got Him Mad'
--for Malenfant

Some where in the far-far past the Ancient's did the deed:
With time travel and higher technology,
They altered major races, and many a plant and seed,
With handwavium futz-guns, and teleport gates so free;
Limitless unobtanium and anti-matter's creed,
A thousand airless rocks for unborn billions for to flee
They carved, and left, and planets they shaped and freed,
And all was well till the Tardis came, with Dr Ganymede!

"Unfutz those worlds, put back that moon," demanded he,
And aimed his reality gun at the green-handed Ancients three.
They say the Ancient Final war, went on and on, then left things as they are...
So no one knows the truth, but he who split a star.

I don't know whether to be touched or worried that people are writing poems inspired by me
.

Be worried, O Chief Science Officer,
For your Jovian Temperament has inspired
The works of others.

'Does my M-V Star make this world look Fat?'

'Habit zone of M-Five stars with a zero-three
Luminosity, cannot a Tee-eight(8)size world be:
The maximum on two-dee (2D) minus two (-2), we see
With losing two (-2) for star, then pay the orbits fee
of Five (-5) gives you the maximum world size of three! (3)

;) --Anything, even science, can be fit to meter & rhyme! :D

--from the UWP system gen rules: 2d6-2 (0-A), -2 for M-class Type V stars, of 0-3 age, -5 for Orbit 0-1, yields worlds of 0, or S, 1, 2, or 3.

the above rhyme for those large "T-garden worlds" sometimes annoyingly found about stars they could not be when even the rules contradict the given UWP!

Ah, the size 8 world you see
Has the most annoying UWP,
But in that same line
A large gas giant moon is fine,
To solve Type M star habitability!

( :D I'm gonna go to the Special Hell for that one...)

yes jeff, you just might.

Living Conditions 2

Large gas giant moon size eight-Tee (T),
Exist due to weight in UWP,
But habital I think not,
For Science shows that they are not
Due to high radioactivity!

</font>[/QUOTE]The radiation arguement has indeed got traction
Because of the deadliness of charged particle interaction,
However the gas giant Van Allen Belts
Can provide the Traveller quite a bit of help,
If He, She, or It is worried about future reproduction!

Chances

Not every giant is like another
so sometimes theres no need to bother
about particles crusing around in space
collected and wrapped in a narrow pace
because the mag field is so very weak
decreasing the nasty radiation peak
So its up to the moons pure lonely fate
to get along with fierce solar winds hate
But maybe he has just a few chances more
with an own spinning molten iron core
but thats well up to the referee
with a mind open and a will so free.

Oh thats so weird ....LOL

Regards,

TE

It may be weird, but it is damned beautiful!

"The Grand Laughing Lady"

Laws of Physics known I have defied,
Canon broken yet no one lied,
Random does scattered life appear
Where once was none, doth now appear,
Your Priests of laws I laugh and scorn,
they tremble dark when hear my horn,
as new light sheds new verse
And what adds to all, lies in my purse.

--a layered rhyming riddle.

1.) Who is this person,
2.) What canon is broken, but no one lied?
3.) Who are the 'Priests of Law'?
4.) What geek-fu has Liam pulled out of his hat THIS time?

anyone can guess... ;)
