YES.

NO.

If you were told there were sharks in the water, cut yourself shaving and went swiimming, Is it the Shark's fault you taste good when it bites you?
NO.

The Proverb of Sevens

There are Seven Constants in the 'verse me boyo:

An Aslan's Honor...

A Darrian's craftsmanship...

A Hiver's silent meticulous attention to detail...

A Swordie's* penchant for "anything shiny must be *new*"...

A Vargr's sense of balance in the midst of Chaos...

A Vilani's adherence to Tradition...

And a Zhodani's treachery...

Sorry Jeff, too Slow, & its been a week! The answers friends & associates...

Laws of Physics known I have defied,
Canon broken yet no one lied,
Random does scattered life appear
Where once was none, doth now appear,
Your Priests of laws I laugh and scorn,
they tremble dark when hear my horn,
as new light sheds new verse
And what adds to all, lies in my purse.
--a layered rhyming riddle.
1.) Who is this person,
Mother nature herself, of course ;)

2.) What canon is broken, but no one lied?
Science: because every time something new is added, something old is replaced, or is changed, yet Science does not lie, it morphs as new known facts present themselves.

3.) Who are the 'Priests of Law'?
Scientists of course, who adhere to the canon and refuse to change when new facts present themselves, or nature disproves their own as she is wont to do

4.) What geek-fu has Liam pulled out of his hat THIS time?
a.) Made you read this post.
b.) Made you stop and think.
c.) Stumped you.

Educating the Board's public there is more than one way to communicate ideas and concepts like using prose or poetry to put across ideas and concepts without rhetoric, ad hominem attacks, and far more to the point--to say as much, if not more, with less. ;)

I beg to differ, Mr Devlin!

When you ring the bell and the cat comes out are you at fault when its hungry?

Not if it's the bell of someone else's house.

When you spit in the eye and hurl daggers of venom at those who oppose, and then wonder why they attack you, can you demand sanctuary like a bystander?

Yes! Run to the nearest church bang on the door and shout sanctuary. It worked for Quasimodo! ;)

If you were told there were sharks in the water, cut yourself shaving and went swiimming, Is it the Shark's fault you taste good when it bites you?

Yes! Whether I taste good or not is purely a matter of opinion of the shark. It is certainly not my fault if the shark decides I'm not tasty. ;)

Ta dah!

/just pulling yer leg, Liam!

PS I thought the first answer to your layered rhyming riddle was Marc Miller!

A.) At my house, when my three cats respond and it was You who rang the bell, I'd blame you!

B.) Works well in fiction, not here on the web of CoTI.

C.) if you were warned and did it anyways, I'd not be blaming the shark. It could have bit anyone else, but chose YOU. Makes you special, in my thinking! ;)

Stumped you too, eh? Good.

FWIW, & as a matter of FYI, I have added titles to the pieces I have written on this thread. Some will provide insight, some will further obscure the words below them.

Make of them as you will, this window of the soul..

Running and Shooting

Tis Tourney time in the USA
Basketball reigns supreme this day
Running and Shooting are all the rage
But in Traveller it's but another page

(For those of you not in the US, the NCAA College Basketball Tournement started yesterday and runs for the next 3 weekends, we call it March Madness.)

<If the Cop can use titles, so can I! ;) >
