MegaTraveller Referee's Gaming Kit

Wayne67

SOC-8
Just saw this item on e-bay.

I have NEVER seen this item before.

Would like to know if any one here has this product and if it is worth getting?

I'd say it depends on the price and completion. Its a not bad set of referee and player screens and several cool standard Equipment Data Sheets. I don't recall the specifics, I sold mine last year to theSea, he could give you more specific info. I think it also came with an issue of Imperiallines, a small fanzine type booklet.

Here's the link if anybody's interested (sorry if I'm blowing your hopes for exclusivity but its not like people would have a hard time finding it
).

Off hand I'd say the price is still reasonable (US$ 11.29 right now) if its complete and what you want. By all means ask the seller to itemize exactly what is included. The picture only seems to show the outer cover/2 panel screen (iirc). There should also be (again iirc) a 4 panel screen, several Equipment Data Sheets (about 8-10?), and the 4(?) page Imperiallines issue (#3?)

DGP #876 Referee's Gaming Kit
Should contain:

2 3-panel folding ref's screens full of crunchy Mega-Traveller chart goodness
1 Referee's gaming kit hints & tips booklet (1 sheet 19"x11" folded)
1 Outpost Alpha Mega-Traveller Adventure Folio #1 booklet (1 sheet 19"x11" folded)
1 Outpost Alpha Mega-Traveller Adventure Folio #2 booklet (1 sheet 19"x11" folded)
8 Equipment Data Sheets (1 sheet 8.5"x11" each)

Be sure to check with the seller and see that it comes with all of the goodies.. the 1st one I bought just had the ref's screens.

If you ref MT at all and are the type who likes to have a screen up: this is the product for you.

The Hints and Tips booklet has some nice ideas.

The adventure folios are Set in the Zarushagar sector and are not (IMHO) particularly inspiring.

The Equipment sheets are the same format as the ones found in later TDs the MTJ and WBH and cover some interesting items such as combo masks, hand computer, interial locater etc.

Hope that helps.

P.S. Dan - Imperiallines Issue #1 came with Assignment Vigilante :D

D'oh, right
I think I was confusing it with the Adventure Folio, thanks for the clarification.

Imperiallines Issue #1 was also avalable through GDW directly and spawn #2 & #3/4 as a substitute for work being done on HWIG.

These provided great background to the thoughts of GDW prior to & in around the time of TNE...but precious few illustrations. Plus, igniting a contraversy whether the Vilani were here on Earth (i.e. before the Terrans ventured to Bernard's...)
