Right now I am contemplating on how to include them in my campaign, a bit far away, but a caravan might have escaped spinward; I think I will call the refugee/settlers: "The Autumn People".
Not sure if I included it in the MgT module, but in GT:Humaniti there's a note that two caravans fleeing the genocide reached the Zhodani around -4000
No, I didn't see that in the MgT module, but it reinforces my idea for the autumn people, as those would have been the spring and summer people maybe? At least in the minds of the autumn people, very nice. I'm thinking that it would be cool for an adventure of some characters waking up in a a fleeing giant colony ship say in 1133 and having to cut around Lucan's Imperium, avoid the Vilani, cross reft (with attendant use of the new TCS in some way...) and refuse resettlement in the Regency (because of their independent streak) to found new worlds on the frontier.
Off to travellermap to make a map, thanks! Luriani is great!
From GT:H p.108
"With the end of the Luriani Consolidation War in -4547 the Vilani banned the caravans. Some managed to escape the final defeat, and continued their travels far beyond the borders of the Zim Sirka. 1llcse wanderers founded the scattered Luriani worlds that are far removed from Daramm - for example, two such caravans are recorded as having reached the Zhodalli Consulate about -4100."
And you are most welcome, I really did enjoy creating (and am currently working on a Luriani based game on RPOL )
Having purchased Luriani, I have to say I am very satisfied. The cover does make sense when one understands it is an Italian artist's vision of a space woman, probably via a Monza grid girl, but still appropriate. Overall it is very well written, avoiding cliche while having an interesting thesis on genetic variation and the cultural inclusion of other humans such as Solomani and Vilani. Luriani also has some very nice ships with deck plans in the back, which for me at least, where I can see things through a different culture's engineering, I find the ships enlightening.
The cover art uses a badly done Victoria 3 from DAZ.
There are much better figures available.
i assume it's to illustrate the increased lung capacity
Gotta admit, the cover stopped me buying the book. These jokes are a good example of why it was inappropriate. I can't imagine how a female gamer would feel coming here to read this thread.
Actually I was trying to create a very 'feminine' and female positive culture when I wrote it, listening to people and reading the reviews I like to think I achieved that
I can't comment on the contents of the book, which as you say has had positive reviews, because I didnt buy it due to the entirely inappropriate cover.

Mind you, the cover could fairly well represent the in-game popular perception of the race (she says ducking for cover)
"Don't judge a book by it's cover ... " as the old saying goes.
I also was a "not gonna buy a book with that sort of cover" guy, but I broke down and picked up a copy.
VERY nice work AndreaV - "Luriani" is worthy of standing up with the best of the other Mongoose Alien books.
Well, you're ducking for cover, so I'm sure you know how weak that argument is.
Or perhaps she feels no defense is required.
I'm not judging the content of the book, in fact I would love to buy it. But I can't use my money to support such a sexist cover.
