Somewhat based on my AHL variant rules, this document modifies the basic Classic Traveller combat system. As such, it could be plugged into the AP and movement system from Snapshot without any problems.
Key points:
- No simultaneous combat; movement and fire initiative.
- General dialing down of positive DMs to fire.
- Different paradigm for armor & penetration. Positive DM from the armor tables appy to damage; only negative DMs apply to hit.
- Optional hex-based movement system.
- Optional incorporation of a rapid fire system to supplant Book 4's panic fire and multiple burst rules.
- Optional reduction of the impact of first blood.
- Optional incremental range rules, reducing sharp difficulty jumps at range category barriers.
Otherwise designed to be plugged into Book 1&4 as easily as possible. (Vast majority of Book 4 weapons not incorporated at this point.)
