I just watched the pilot for the tv series, Oasis. It's amazing.
Only the pilot is available right now. I'm hoping it gets the greenlight and they produce the whole season.
It's a near-future science fiction universe in the earliest colonization years. Earth has the ability to send people to a single Earthlike colony planet, called Oasis. It appears to be a near-desert planet; they're mining for water.
The spaceship is a very large, but traditional rocket ship that launches from the Earth. The passengers are put into induced coma for the "jump." It's unclear how long the FTL travel is, but it's probably days or weeks. A character says that it costs $100 million per person to send them to the colony, but in this economy $1 bills are basically worthless and unused due to inflation.
There's not a ton of future tech in it. Some advanced computers, a sort of "holodeck" for entertainment, lots of quad-copter drones that could (and do) exist today.
Definitely worth checking out. It reminds me a lot of The Expanse, in the way they seem to be concerned with a lot of scientific details and hyperrealism.
