Old/New Traveller

I used to play Traveller about 15 years ago, and I'm interested in starting to play it again on-line. I'm a neophyte to the whole on-line RPG thing and would like to hear any advice anyone has for starting up again (where to go online, how to play on-line, etiquette, anything). I feel like a moron but there it is thanks.

Check out "PlayByWeb.com". Find a game that you might be interested in, request to join, wait untill the moderator gets back to you before you do anything (found out the hard way that there really wasn't anything blocking an unauthorized character posting). Once your in just try to get back to post as often as you can, from what I could tell I think the average is once a day with multiples possible on the weekends. Its alot slower than table-top but at least it is roleplaying.

There are alot of gamers who prefer face-to-face gaming, but I'm one of those few who actually prefers message based gaming. Yes, it's slower, but there are advantages to that.

Thanks for your input guys. I've gotten on a game at playbyweb and so far it is working out well. I actually don't mind the pace and like the detail that is necessary for participating via web.
