Returning gamer wanting to give traveller a shot.

... As I type, I am currently rolling a character using CT rules. It is pretty enjoyable. I can't wait to make a subsector.
Good times!

After you make up that subsector, and have a hands on feel for the generation rules, I highly recommend taking a peek at some of the excellent online material. First on my list would be www.travellermap.com.

Not only does Joshua Bell provide an awesome zoomable map of the Official Traveller Universe, but provides for rendering maps from your own data. The simplest way being via http://www.travellermap.com/post.htm. (see http://www.travellermap.com/api.htm for extra details).

BTW: Mongoose has some errata for Core. Its not called errata, but rather 'Player's Guide'. (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/r...ooks-accessories/traveller-core-rulebook.html). There are a few more freebies on the site - including the two adventure campaigns. (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/rpgs/traveller/adventures-and-campaigns.html)

Don maintains errata for other versions (http://dmckinne.winterwar.org/trav.html).

Thank you for clarifying digest size for me and not giving me the ole' "I'm sure a google search would explain it." routine. I really should have googled it. ;) I guess it just proves you guys really are a friendly bunch. I appreciate all the help thus far and am excited to get my copy of MgT on Wednesday. As I type, I am currently rolling a character using CT rules. It is pretty enjoyable. I can't wait to make a subsector.

Then don't - it's in the SRD...

Or do it using the rules in Starter Traveller.
