I'd really rather we had more references and citations. More is better than less in this case.

Perhaps one of us could imagine up a system to rank the references as in primaries and secondaries, or something like that. I'm open to ideas.

In that, despite the modern availability of most prior material, not everyone has every reference, knowing all of the possible places to look is desired. We also would need to know all of the cites before we can determine which ones are repeated information.
