Hello All!
The community says to introduce myself, so I decided to follow that logic.
I'm an "old roleplayer" from back in the very late 70s. Classic Traveller was my 2nd role playing game after the old Blue Book Basic D&D. I like space so much that I became an astronomer in real life, so it wasn't a big leap that Traveller would become a favorite RPG.
Back then, in the Stone Age of RPGs when Men were men, Aliens were aliens, and RPGs were just rule sets so you had to make your own Universe, I tried to do just that. I still like to dabble a bit. My Traveller Universe never quite got any play because I ended up playing in college friend's game in the mid 80s who had carved out her own area of the Imperium back then.
I still have my Little Black Books, but now they're carefully stored. I absolutely love the fact that Marc decided to reprint the Classic game and I bought everything over again over the last couple of years. He actually signed my volume of Classic Books, "Welcome back!"
I'm both a bit isolated nowadays, and busy transitioning to a new job so actual play is a rarity for me, but Gygax's death earlier this week sort of hit me wierdly and I remembered COTI and decided to log in.
It might be just what I needed. Thanks, folks.
