Searching cheap CT stuff to begin playing in Europe

Hi guys,

I'm searching for a good starter package containing the CT rules and some sourcebooks maybe for a fair price. I'm not interested in collector prices as I'm going to play that game, nothing more, nothing less. So if anyone in Europe (-> shipping) is willing to sell me a fine small package of CT-stuff to start playing, it would be very appreciated.

Drop me a message! :)

Well, if PDF (with some minor issues but overall generally quite good) will do, for US $35 plus shipping from the USA you can get a nicely boxed CD with every CT GDW book produced:

If it has to be print there's also the reprint compilation for US $28 plus shipping for a good start (Books 0-8). Or just US $10 plus shipping from the USA for the reformatted basics (Books 1-3) in a single small book. I have both and they are excellent:

Yes, I highly reccomend the CT CD from FFE, it is an invaluable playing resource. It has already come in quite handy.

PDF is not an Option. The reprints look really nice and not pricey at all! Still though, I'm a bit skeptical about the landscape format.

I don't find the big floppy books too hard to use for what a personal opinion is worth. I had thought they would be awkward before getting them but either I got used to it or there was never a real issue. The only issue I have is shelving them, in with regular books the spine is up and you don't know what the book is and it's kinda floppy on it's own (thought about making dust jackets to correct those problems, haven't yet). Shelving next to LBB/Digest sized books they stick out of course which doesn't work either but addresses the other issues.

The print quality is excellent and the bindings good (mine anyway). I use them more than the PDFs even when I'm in front of the computer :)

Recommendation: DON'T use CT

Mongoose is resonably close, offers more options in chargen, is availabel in German from 13Mann

The rules are as good/bad as CT and the rest is there.
