Ship combat critical damage

I agree with your points about BAB. We just ran across that recently and are still sort of scratching our heads about it. The only weapons in all of the D20 system that doesn't use BAB?

An academic can be better gunner than a navy man? How... odd.


HE Missle? Hmmm, not sure. 1x also, are they? I sure would like to hear from the devs on what their thoughts were on this whole subject. This is the official forums, right?
 
Missiles suffered a lot in their translation from CT LBB2/Mayday/SS3 to High Guard.

With T20 being based on High Guard then missiles were always going to suffer.

And if HE missiles are hard done by, how about nuclear missiles? ;)

I think the entire ship weapon damage table is so broken, it should have been declared "errata" and completely replaced years ago. Still waiting....

Xavier, I too am not too happy with the system as presented.

The complication of adding damage factors to determine the dice of damage, to compensate for the hockey stick curve on hull points assigned to ships, seems sort of silly.

Give ships hull points based on hull tonnage and give weapons a die of damage based on the weapon, period.
