Has anybody taken a modular approach to ship design. I'm about to start a project to build the off the shelf components to easily replicate the ship building process from book 2. if anybody else has already done it, and wants safe me hours of involvement ( and maybe my marriage ) it would be greatly appreciated.

Just be warned - you can emulate the process, perhaps, but you won't wind up with compatible designs...

TNE JDrive is 1% +(Jn)%
CT Bk2 drive is 5Td+2.5%
(and percentage gets funky above 2000Td)
