COMMENTS
A stout hull and a good turn of speed are often said to be the prime requirements of a good system defence boat. The Sidth class possesses both these qualities in abundance. Capable of 6 Gs acceleration with ample reserves of power and armoured against most threats, the Sidth is more than capable of dealing with most threats short of a cruiser.

Designed by the Imperial Navy before the Civil War, the class was intended to be an affordable basic craft for the countless mid to high population worlds within the Imperium. The Imperium absorbed the design and initial production costs, allowing worlds to avail themselves of the Imperium's considerable bulk purchasing power.

The Sidth can be found in virtually any Imperial system (and those of many freindly worlds beyond the border). During wartime, the Sidth can lurk for long periods, hidden deep with a worlds oceans or lying in wait in the systems gas giants. Waiting to strike at lightly protected transports and disrupt the enemies supply lines. In peacetime, the Sidth can be encountered on customs duty, engaged in search and rescue, patrolling for pirates or any of the myrid other roles that are the lot of the humble SDB.
