Shuttle launch from above

I was watching the launch on TV. Too overcast to see anything from here :( but I heard they had a great view just a few miles north . Was a fantastic launch and the beginning of the end of an era.

Doggone it, it's 2011 where's my Eagle at :)

What is there to say but .. wow! If I'd been on that flight I'd have been wetting myself (or crying if I was on the left side of the aircraft)

Now all they need to do is make vehicles (yes, in plural) that can get to the moon AND MARS in one stage.

I understand the plural bit. Let's not muck around. Agreed.

I do not understand what you mean by one stage. I thought that the get into orbit bit and the get from planet to planet part need totally different vehicles. They are two different engineering design specs. To make them one stage means compromising on both rather than building different vehicles that are ideal for each stage.

Can you explain a bit more about what you mean by the one stage?

Basically I want them to start building in-system versions of Traveller ships, with all the fittings of the TL10+ version (notably gravitics and reactionless thrusters) save for the jump drive.
