Snowstorm 2016

How is everyone weathering this snowstorm?

Watching the snow fall in a steady stream outside my window in Lexington Kentucky. Not too thick on the ground yet, we are predicted to have up to 20".
I am worried about the cats outside, they like to huddle in a plastic covered window well for a basement apartment. I wonder if it could get totally covered and then they couldn't get out.

Lucky I bought lots of coffee and all different kinds of tea :coffeesip:

It's supposed to start tomorrow morning here in NY and the forecast calls for up to 12". I have my two kids (14 and 8) this weekend in my massive 2 room apartment so I stocked up on the necessities: Hot Chocolate, Marshmallows, Goldfish, and Oreos for them and beer for me. :)

Well, here in the Great Frozen Wasteland of Minnesota we're having a light snow winter. My hearty thanks to all of you who are accepting the shunting of the usual twelve feet per month that we usually get. :)

Here in Florida,
We woke to a cold 51F, but it is climbing to a high of 71F.
Bracing ourselves for temperatures in the 40's tonight.

Lot's of Hot Cocoa to get us through it. :)

We are all here for you in your time of need...
I grew up in Ohio.
I remember waking and asking "How many feet of show did we get last night?"

... it was one of the things that convinced me to move to Florida.

Anchorage has almost no snow. Maybe 1" of accumulation... Kinda backwards.

I lived in Syracuse, NY for about 20 years. My kids were 12 and 8 when we moved to Georgia. The first time we had a "snow day" here, my kids ran to the window, threw open the curtains and said, in unison, "where's the snow?" :p

We have not had that much snow this year, but when we do....
Does your city/town practice Parking Dibs?
Chicago DIBS
Woe betide the one who takes a spot that they personally did not plow
People get into fights here because Parking Dibs are Sacred. Well, that and because we are Chicago...

Yes weird we are getting hit in the south and you aren't in the north but there are several months of winter to go :)

It looks like a bloody blizzard out my window!

My earliest memories are of Elmendorf AFB. That was over 40 years ago.

We have had rain and snow in the last week... more rain expected later this week. It doesn't look like winter. (It's still freaking cold, but it's not snowy like it should be.

The sad thing is when you wrote Anchorage, my first thought was "I wonder how close Elmendorf is." Then I looked it up. :nonono:

You must remember, I said "earliest memories." To a 3-yr old, a short car ride can be an eternity. ;)

Syracuse had odd-even parking. On odd numbered days you could park on one side of the street, on even numbered days, you parked on the other. That way the plows could get through and hit both sides of the street. If you didn't move your car, the plows buried it and then the police came by and ticketed it. :frankie:
