Kurega, your system should work for most things, not too scientific that you would get caught by someone who knows better, but in game terms, shows what can happen.
I would suggest a tweak though.
Exposure to radiation should have Short Term and (possibly) Long Term Effects.
The ST effects are damage, as you describe. The total damage might not show up all at once though. Radiation Sickness (the ST damage you are describing) can come one over a period of time as organs start to shut down etc. Maybe over a couple of days or weeks, depending on the level of exposure. That might be an interesting thing to roll-play.
The LT effects are things like cancer or perhaps in Traveller terms, permanent stat reduction. Perhaps for each exposure there is a chance that the character has to make an aging roll, even if they are younger. Once they have to make an aging roll, they have to keep rolling every 4 years from then on, simulating the long-term effects of the radiation.
Low level exposure might not cause ST damage, but could still drive long term effects.
