Something Blue

That rat bastar... Oh, wait, wrong guy. BG wasn't on my Iggy list. I'm not very good at keeping in touch with people online, tho - hope that wasn't part of the problem.

I don't have an ignore list. I'm not really sure what they're for.

If they work the way I think, they're a self-discipline tool to stop you getting into arguments if you have trouble resisting. In which case, it says more about you than the person you're ignoring.

If the stuff people write irritates me, I simply stop reading it. Next time they're on line, they might be saying something useful that I don't want to deprive myself of, or they might be asking for help that I can provide.

The only time I'd use an ignore list is if some saddo was stalking me and I couldn't talk some sense into him/her.

The whole purpose of being here is to communicate with fellow Travellers, isn't it?

We have an ignore list option? Really? Who knew?

Thanks everyone, I won't go into details, but the real world has really interfered with my ability to concentrate on the most mundane of things. So, my blog became a channel for venting for a time.

But, now I'm tossing real world stuff back at the real world, and keeping it at the COTI drawbridge and moat, where it belongs.

The pattern seems to be that when things are "going well", then I get to see everyone's posts. When things are bad, my net access is suddenly restricted. Go figure.

Ergo, things will always "go well" on the COTI BBS.

Traveller fans are the best. :)

I will speak no more on the subject.

By which link are you trying to view new messages Blue Ghost? Some of them are a bit broken iirc. And I seem to remember issues with Internet Explorer if that's your browser of choice you might try another.

Thanks David.

What happens is that every few months my access to this site somehow gets restricted. Then, wham, all of a sudden I can see everyone's posts, but it'll only last for a few days, then I can't see any posts again.

So... I want to fix it somehow. And yes, I did get your PM :)

That's very odd. I'm not sure where to begin looking for the problem. Have you tried logging in from a different computer? Maybe a public library terminal? Just wondering if it is something on your end. Could be some browser setting I suppose, I'm not familiar with Google Chrome except that when I first tried it a couple or few years back it messed up my system royally and was a pain to uninstall. There still seem to be ghosts of it haunting this old computer that refuse to be exorcised and cause headaches once in a while.
