Space Trader... new implementation

I recently D/L'd a new Space Trader game.

It's an in-system goal based game, with no ship-to-ship (that I have seen yet, at least), with some FPS interludes. Especially if you choose not to pay your taxes.

Nicely rendered, plays well.

Found it on the Apple games.

Actually, Mac, Win, and Linux!

I just finished the third challenge. They seem to be working on an editor to allow new challenges, at which point, I'll see about doing traveller type stuff with it.

Unlike the older PalmOS SpaceTrader (http://www.cs.unimaas.nl/p.spronck/picoverse/spacetrader/STFrames.html), this one is entirely in-system N-space stuff.

Scenario one is earth/moon/convoy, measure distances in hours
Scenario 2 is Venus, Earth, Mars, Convoy, measure in days
Scenario 3 is Europa, Io, Ganymede, Callisto, Convoy, measure in hours.

All levels can be beaten without going to the shooter mode, but taking out bad guys and stealing their cargoes in the process makes it much easier to beat them. You will need to go to first person walk-about, tho', so you can meet all the traders (and also pick up some stuff left around).

Here's my scores:
Code:
Scenario: Moon Madness Free Trade Red Eye Trader
    Score: $670K $10.3M $65.6M
Par Score: $500K $5.0M $25.5M

Until you make par, you can't go on to the next scenario.

It's Nag Ware. It lets you play, apparently indefinitely, but every time you launch, it nags with a wait.
