Spica colonization history (Hivers)

Based on the assumption that the Hivers didn't start pushing into Spica until about 490 and continued moving spinward until they bumped into the Solomani border in 704. The Hiver's expansion would have been at a more leisurely and orderly pace, since they weren't as worried about creating colonies behind an already established border in order to prevent another large polity from expanding a la the Sollies.

At first the Hiver's expansion into Spica was limited to ss P and O and the rimward end of ss L because because of the J-2 route back into Phlask sector. Also, this would help support the expansion into Langere from Drakken.

After the Hivers reached the Sollie border in 704 and were thwarted from further expansion spinward, they started expanding coreward into ss K and L to secure their influence on Delta Quadrant. They also were looking for new markets and trade partners among the neutral systems in Beta Quadrant.

Here are some proposed dates for Hiver colonization:

490: First Hiver colony established in Spica, at hex 3230, coming via the J-2 route from Phlask sector.

508: Hivers establish first colony in cluster at hexes 2529, 2530, 2628, 2630, 2728, 2729, 2730, 2828, 2929, and 2930. This cluster will serve as the Hiver base for all further colonization efforts and expansion into Spica.

553: Hivers establish first colony in ss P, in large 24-system cluster ending at hexes 2532 and 2632. From here, the Hivers start pushing rimward through ss P to assist with the colonization efforts in Langere as well as continue to move spinward.

571: Hivers establish first colony in ss O, moving along large J-1 cluster from ss P. Again, expansion starts pushing rimward to aid efforts in Langere as well as continuing spinward.

589: Hivers establish first colony in ss K, at cluster in hexes 2328, 2329, and 2427.

643: Hivers establish first colony in ss N, at hex 1631, the end of the large J-1 cluster through the coreward end of ss O.

670-679: Hivers hit Solomani border with colonies at hexes 1332 and 1333. Expansion efforts start moving rimward toward Langere.

697-704: Hivers again encounter Solomani border with colony at hex 1038. Halt spinward expansion in Spica.

712: Hiver expansion in Spice starts moving coreward with establishment of first colony in J-1 cluster starting at hex 1629.

757: Hivers establish first colony in large J-1 main running through Beta and Delta Quadrants, at hex 2323.

793: Hiver border reaches current location of coreward edge of ss K with colony at hex 2321.

802: Hiver expansion starts pushing trailing into coreward end of ss L from large J-1 main running through Beta and Delta Quadrants.

838: Hivers establish first colony in cluster along border between ss L and ss H starting at hexes 2921 and 2922.

865-874: Hivers establish colonies in ss H, at hexes 3020 and 3120. This creates current border location.

Sounds OK to me... bear in mind that the Prt' are supposed to live on the world at 2930, so would they let the Hivers establish a colony there?

Well, I was just talking about the cluster of systems that includes the system where the Prt' live. Whoever developes that ss will have to decide what happens between the Prt' and the Hivers. ;)
