Star wars is on

Regina Star Town, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

The movie that launched one hundred thousand games. And the spinal mount.

An interesting theory, but I don't think Lucas is that sharp. :p

"Let's play the movie before Lucas changes it again."

If you're referring to it being aired on the Spike Channel, I refuse to watch it, as they inject far too many adverts. Nothing kills the momentum of an excellent action flick like too many commercials. Spike is guilty of this, as is Ovation.

We got back from the pool and were drinking. For some strange reason getting up to put the disk version in was more than I could do, although I was able to make beer runs right past the cabinet and also post on here. So I watched the ad version.

Thinking about it overall, what if someone reedited the first three to get rid of the worst of Jar Jar's 'step on the poopie' slapstick, ran in the more in detail scenes that were cut on the founding of the rebels, injected some better reason for for the queen dying, like make a cut scene of her getting tossed into a machine exhaust area or something on the pad--and then doubled down on Chewie and R2 in the second half of film three. Maybe inserting into backgrounds at meetings, new scenes where they are quietly getting instructions?

Then things would make a lot more sense. That, and double the length of the scene in the bar in 4 where Ben and Chewie chat.

We're visiting relatives and they've got RotJ on the TV.

We're barely noticing the TV, instead it's just a springboard for us looking up internet jokes like "It's a Frap" and "Many Bothans Died to Bring You These Tacos".

How did we watch TV before the internet?

(Yeah, rhetorical question. I read most of the Lensman series while the TV was on one of my mother's shows.)

Garyius, I think Star Wars was intended to grab hold of the imaginations of teens and pre-teens, and then that generation would pass on their love and message of the films to their kids once they had families. The result is that the newer films were designed to skew to a younger audience. I think with the the third prequel the film makers either intentionally made it intense for an audience that matured with the prequels, or they were trying to save a fan base that was becoming dissatisfied with the direction of the films.

I liked "Star Wars" and "Empire". They're great entertainment, but like I wrote in my blog I'm not that much of a fan. Fun entertainment though.
