Starports!

Wow. What a nice organization of material... who did this?
2007... it's been conglomerated like this for two years. Did I miss the announcement?

I think they were .pdf downloads on the FFE website if I remember right. I didn' think they were this extensive, tho. Awesome!

fantastic stuff. Looks like stuff from FFE (T5 & CT stuff) & Rob's website (where I snatched a lot of this material earlier).

Nicely done. I'll have to be like Magnus and chop down a tree & print this at some point.

Although I also liked some stuff on starports at the FreeTraveller site that had sub-codes based on various facilities. Essentially creating a starport profile. Snagged that as well and I'll be incorporating all this stuff at some point...

No idea. I actually stumbled upon it quite by accident. I was looking up references to an old e-mail account I had, and I got a hit on this because I am listed in the credits (though I know nothing of this project).

It is a nice book, with material from all over the place, collected all in one book.

I'm curious...this looks like book #2.

What was book #1?

Anybody found it?

Well, I know who's account that is but I'm not sure I should say. The compilation looks like their work but they take no credit in the credits. So I don't know if they just collated the information or were working on it with some of the listed. Since you're credited but don't recall it I think I'd go with the first.

It is a curious thing. I don't recall the person doing a #1 (unless, and my memory is too foggy and I can't recall where I stashed it, an item they did for me a while before that was #1, but I don't think so), mentioning this project (hence the reluctance to name names), nor seeing the StarTraveller Productions name before.

I'll drop the person behind the account a note and see if they respond and can shed some light on the matter.

This is just...wow.

More crunch than grape-nuts cereal sprinkled with gravel. :p

Q: What's with all the white, open space at the end?
Q: What is book 1, if this is #2?

That's my compilation pdf from WAAY back

Hi kids!

That pdf is one of my own personal rules compilation pdf's, one I didn't distribute, given the incredible controversy of Starports material here and on other CT sites, I figured I'd compile up some apparently compatible rules for starports and give them the Mickazoid LBB treatment. It's incomplete, as a number of the trade tables are missing, there are a few blank pages, etc. as others have noted previously.

I think the source of the info is cited on the first pages of the LBB - I'll dig up my original Indesign files and see what I can do about an update if there's non-controversial interest.

Most of all, glad you folks like it!

Those blank pages are obviously intended for all the inspirational art based upon real Citizens of the Imperium. I know I sent my photo in to get photoshoped and converted into a Starport security official...

That statement alone has convinced me to go ahead and install my copy of Indesign. Vie les Mac et Adobe!

Unrelated to that: I have updates for some of the starport components.

It is great work, Mick.

Please, I'd love a cleaned up version, if you're going to clean it up.

:D Actually, they're there for a reason, following the pattern of MWM's Atlas of the Imperium, some of the Judges Guild stuff, and T4's Second Survey...

It's left completely blank to allow the GM to fill in his own Starport information...

(Don't hit me.)

Grabbed a copy, can't waite till I can delve into this goodness!

Does anyone know of any other sites like this? Fanzine's? (other than stellar reaches and frontier report)

I updated the link

Hi folks - I got my old indesign files, fonts, art, etc all collected and installed, and I've printed out a new pdf. I think it's the same stuff with the addition of the quick interstellar trade system and system defense rules at the end of the book. And, I fixed it so it looks extra-luscious on iphone and pda's :) :)

http://www.columbia.edu/~mbk2109/traveller/Starports!.pdf

The numbering scheme, 'STP' naming etc. was completely arbitrary. I've made a few more pdfs (Forms/Rules/Errata, TNS News, JTAS Library Data, a few campaign sectors, etc.) and the creation of my sector software began when I found myself poring too much into formatting tweaks of one sector when those same tweaks could be done to a generator...

Anyway, re-enjoy and please let me know how I can help :)

Going straight into my library thanks :)

Just skiming through, are there tables missing on page 34 & 35? Relating to Starport Weightings, etc. It could be a formating error, bullet points gone mad and calling themselves Table 3.2 to Table 3.18? That doesn't quite make sense either tho.

Cheers!

It looks like place holders for future planned expansions.
