Survey Cruiser

Gadrin

SOC-14 1K
I was going thru my copy of Fate of the Sky Raiders and noticed it mentions an 800-ton Survey Cruiser of the Explorer class.

Anyone have Adventure Class Ships and give me a "fair use" idea of what the ship is like in terms of looks and performance ?

It seems actually close to the Broadsword in broad terms (2 cutters, partial streamlining, etc), but obviously isn't.

Thanks ! :D

I believe someone had done a T20 conversion of it and put it into the Free Library as one of the FASA ships. Pardon me for not referencing but I don't have the link.

I statted up an 800T survey ship of my own, I'll see if I can find it if its any use to you - I created it with LBB5+houserules, though.

if you go to the link in my SIG you can download a LBB 2 ship generator
called SHEN or the highguard one called FGG...the SHEN program has
section for making a 500t deep space recovery vessel or a 400t lab ship
that you can tweak if you want for a survey vessel.

The Survey Cruiser is indeed a Type C configured for field research instead of troop transport. The deckplans are a two-deck Slab, with most of the quarters and facilities in the upper deck, engineering and fuel in the lower deck, and a few extra working bits and the two Cutters hanging in external dock below the hull.

Really ? You mean a Broadsword-like ship ? (I don't doubt you, I'm just surprised).
