THE NEW ERA / EBAY

Those have been tempting me for months. Only problem is I've already got 3 of 'em (Gazelle, SDB, Scout/Xboat/Tender) so while that price is maybe doable for all 7, there's no way I could justify it for just 4. Enjoy 'em, though. All 3 that I have are gorgeous.

On a slight tangent, does anybody know what's up with Seeker and their website. They have new products listed there (some posters, a couple new sets of deckplans) but no way to buy them. Not to mention all the old product that they're offering on ebay with "Buy It Now"s that they could be selling direct. Are they trying to use money raised from ebay sales to pay the printing fees for their new line or what?

I think seeker are testing the waters and selling off old stock. They are seeing if the traveller revival - Gurps or T20 take off and get all the old players back.

Yeah the website does not do online ordering, and they are trying to discourage ebay sales of their items by claiming the seller is selling bad copies (don't know the truth of that?)

As for other sources, the old deck plans only came up very occassionally and were usually subject to a bidding war - say a copy of the Tethys go for $140

Cheers
Richard

Yeah, I noticed that
I think the seller they're feuding with is J. Paul Sanders, who offers a lot of the same items as they do (15mm deckplan sets, Marischal folio adventures). I've bought several things from him (including the aforementioned deckplans and folios) and they were all in mint condition and seemed authentic -- either he picked up a stock from somewhere (possibly from Bill Keith?) or he's been reprinting them on his own (he published the "Keith Brothers' Lost Supplements" collection (as Cargonaut Press), so we know he has access to pro-quality printing). If they're really serious about stopping him (and have cause) they could issue a cease & desist, but since they apparently haven't done so yet I just take their "warnings" as more standard ebay-seller bluster.
