The Tools Post You Banned TimeCop For

Well if it were not for the fact that you banned my brother and he sent me to the post he made I would not be posting this. I know that you will most likely remove this post as well but when you do I will know you read it so that is OK.

This is in regards to the Tools post.

First off I own both site, not him. He posts education to Salon Systems and most of the time has to call me when his computer needs turned on. Ok not that bad but you get the point. If it has to do with your hair he can fix it, but if it comes with a keyboard he is lost.

Second of all you should not assume that because one person gets their e-mail from the same server that hosts the another site that they are related. He only has that e-mail address because he is an educator for the site.

Third - he did stumble on to your forum looking for another solution to my program. Mine is not complete yet and we were not advertising the site. Thank you for removing the link.

Fourth if you would have taken a little more time to check out things you would have noticed that the post he made on your site was before any reply's came from the other site. He was looking for the answer to his question. Though granted he did not go about it correctly, is this how you treat new people to your site. He knew about Traveller because I use to play it when I was a kid. He is ignorant not a JERK!

Instead of just assuming things based on what you read and the SMALL amount of "research" you felt you did then banning someone from your site you should try to get more information about who your banning and calling names. If I were to assume things based on your post I would assume that if you had a brain you would take it out and play with it. Is that true or might I be mistaken?

Well for what it is worth I have said my bit. You really should consider changing your post. You called my brother a JERK and I don't think your position there is to slander people, especially when you don't know what the hell your talking about. If you really want to see something that might even look worse his e-mail is mbateman@salonsys.com and mine is Michaelb@ssdmedia.com only his name is Mark. Oh and you might want to ban these other domain names, I host them as well...

Nope, didn't remove his for the same reason. I figure I'd let the other folks see that we won't tolerate this type of postings here. All I did was remove the SPAM link and ban him from posting again under that name.

Your brother is apparently an adult, and shouldn't need you to defend his actions. What he did was completely against the rules of netiquette. Perhaps you should explain how it works. You don't post misleading SPAM to other people's message boards.

You own both sites right? So where did I screw up? YOUR company name appears as owner of both at the bottom of the pages. This is a common tactic among spammers. Post from what appears to be an unrelated website, and 'recommend' a program, game, or whatever.

LOL! Give me a break. What 'solution' was he looking for? The number of programs that you might have to compete with? He spammed us. He may not have intended it, but he did.

To say he didn't go about it correctly is an understatement to say the least. This is the problem. IF he would have said 'Hey my brother created this cool program, check it out', I wouldn't have said a word. He wouldn't have been the first person to promote their own site or tools here. Instead he used standard spam tactics. THAT is what got him banned.

I have far to much better to do that to waste time 'researching' who is posting spam. I did enough checking to be sure the two sites were related (they are, both owned by your company). He spammed and he got called on it. Tough. Spammers ARE jerks. I'll ignore the other petty drivel you seem to be spouting, and keep this civil, something you seem in capable of doing.

He spammed the boards plain and simple. Hell, even in this message you posted you haven't apologized for his actions. Instead you see prefer to insult me for banning a spammer and calling him a jerk. Well when you act like a jerk, expect to be called on it. If he (or you) wants to apologize for his actions, I'll accept that and modify the post appropriately to reflect that fact. Until then, it remains.

No spam has hit these boards from the other domains you listed, so no need to ban them. If we get posts similar to your brother's here from those domains, I will ban them at that point.

Despite your attitude, I am willing to even remove the ban on the two of your domains I did block. You at least had the guts to come here and explain your brother's actions. You are even free to mention your tools, just don't try to make it look like you have no relation to the product. THAT is what your brother did and THAT is what got him banned.

I keep telling myself the same thing everyday, but can't seem to find one. Not enough hours in the day!
