Overall, not a good edition

FF&S took a lot of the fiction out of Science Fiction and was a pain. I didn't like much about this edition. I have since sold everything but Keepers of the Flame and note: I still have all my CT & MT materials!

That's exactly why I liked this book so much. For starters, it's incredibly useful for any sci-fi game since it's so general. Secondly, it is, in places, extremely educational.

Fusion, Fire & Steel - Quite Simply my most used game reference. An updated, error free version (combineing FFS2 stuff and going back to T-Plates) would be bought in a heartbeat. In fact, I'd probably buy 2 just to have an extra.

Traveller Player's Forms - Never did like the "official" player form. Don't have a better on, just don't like that one.

Reformation Coalition Equipment - Would've been nicer if there were some design sequences included.

World Tamer's Handbook - Would've been a 10 had there been a couple examples and an updated UWP generator to make things a tad more realistic/plausible/playable.

I agree about Fire Fusion & Steel, but it had one Tragic Flaw: designed vehicle weight. Some friends and I found a book on the old Soviet WW-2 tank, the T-34. Using the specs we built one with FF&S, which came out at about 5 times the actual weight. Which wouldn't bother me, except that unit maintenance costs in the system we were going to use [either the TNE combat or Striker 2]were based on vehicle weight!

World Tamer's Handbook - if they had come up with a colony economic model that could scale up to handle the bootstrap mission in the same book [the one to that planet with a few million people whose name eludes me], that would have been wonderful.
