Traveller 2300/ 2300AD Font

I have the CD-ROM, so I have the font that's used for the title on the box (2300AD ttf font), but I'm wondering, does anyone know what font was used for the text of the various guides? It would be nice to have for custom adventures, handouts etc.

Thanks!

Well for what it is worth I have been using the font "Arial Narrow" for all my stuff; not just 'Arial', it has to be 'Arial Narrow'. Use font size 12. Except for some minor differences (ie a hook at the bottom of the 't', straight lines instead of rounded on the 'w') I think it makes an excellent quality fake.

use Ariel narrow or even trebuchet, then if youre using Adobe Illustrator choose 'Create Outlines' in the 'type' tab, then add a steel grey gradient at 90degrees.

You should then have your 'polished metal in sunset' kind of 2300AD logo.

The sourcebooks use a font called Peignot or Exotic 350, they look very similar to each other.

Hmmm, on the capital letters it would be hard to disagree with you i.e. the U and the W are slightly different but otherwise the letters are so tanalizingly close. But the unless you are looking at a different font set than I am seeing on my web searches the lower case letters are completly different. Link to example of Exotic 350 I have found. Link to example of Peignot I have found. Do you konw of anything that I am not seeing here?

The title font for the Aurore Sourcebook appears to be "Peignot Bold". Some of the lowercase letters are smaller versions of uppercase, like A and G, others are distinctly lowercase like b, d, i, j, and y.

I know this is an ancient and dead thread, but for posterity, the font is "Exotic-Bold" or Peignot Bold.

Some of the Exotic variants have the lower case Q with the slash being inside and outside the "O" part. The book titles have a lower case Q with the slash being on the outside only. Matches with Exotic-Bold. Peignot Bold also matches up.

Ancient thread, arise!

The fonts I use to replicate the look of the old books are:

Logo: 2300AD.ttf (on CD-ROM)

Book Titles: Peignot Bold

Heads & Subheads: Souvenir Gothic Demi/Souvenir Regular Italic

Body Copy: Souvenir Regular
