Traveller Miniatures...No, really...

Who know we might be able to have our ships and RPG figures too.

Eureka is very nice and a charm to deal with.
Pax Limpopo is great, Lancers on Penny-Farthings!
Rates are reasonable and my order arrived faster than I expected. The 100 club is a good idea though they have gotten too many orders before. Best to start with figures that are uniquely Traveller and cannot be duplicated with figures being currently made.

IIRC, SJG was at least thinking of doing Traveller minis down the line but even their Ogre line has stalled recently since the Mini rules reissue hasn't come out.

Oh and Full Thrust Traveller? Full Thrust is a great game and I like BITS work in general.

Was searching the net and came across several interesting sites who's figures might work:

11305-Xiao 3.14 Pi and 11302-Assault Synths with Grape Guns (not sure what a grape gun is)

Many of these are a little high in tech level weapons and/or weapons to be just your average Traveller characters but maybe worth a look.

lots of interesting sites (check TSR’S #5331 Star Frontiers - Player Characters 12 figures)

http://www.scalemodelindex.com/ has 3423 scale model web sites – got dizzy after a couple hours of browsing

http://www.gtns.co.uk/gzgstore/commerce.cgi huge list of figures (some with pics)

Just a suggestion. :D

I’m all for some new ship models, but I'm really in the market for some new character figures, but will all the attention that this post has focused on the state of miniatures, I hope we have a real opportunity to get some good stuff made. On the JTAS discussion boards someone mention Eureka Miniatures and I just checked it out. WOW has anyone else checked them out.
Actually, we've been so successful, we're already sketching out plans for exactly this at Travellermini. We're focused on the unavailable figures, such as Droyne, Aslan and Hivers.

Substitutions are fine, after all that’s what I’m suggesting with the Eureka miniatures, because there is no Traveller logo on it. The Void militia figs are fine and nicely done, I have some, and I can think of even better figures out there, both in production and out of production, but they are just substitution. I have seen people fantasy role play with 40K Eldar figs, why because they thought they looked cool. I’m old fashion and miniatures nut, I like to match scale and Tech level. Sure I could use the Star Wars Jedi figure, after all it’s cool figure, but light sabers and robes just do not fit in MTU. I could get some Battle Fleet Gothic figs for space ships, or I could use pennies, all I can say is to each his own.

I have a lot of figures in my collection, I can even cast my own, but I’m always looking for more. I look at the Traveller Martian Metal 15mm line and I’m envious of the diversity of selection, but unfortunately the quality of the sculpting is not up to today’s standards. I guess I’m a miniature fascist, all I want some normal character figures without huge guns, skimpy skirts and big-breasted women, the girlfriend always complains, pointy ears and power armor with massive shoulder pads.

I'd like to vote in favor of "wargame" style miniatures over the spindly old 25mm style. I also support the decision to go with aliens first. Foundry's Street Violence figures should work for humans in the interim.

I especially like the Hardwire Troupe and Mercenary Fire Team shown here:

The Outlaw Trash shown here:

And the guys shown below the "men in blue" here:
